SYM.BIOGENESIS
Sym biogenesis
The name Sym biogenesis comes from the biological concept in which individuals of different natures from different species come together to form a new individual. In this piece, aged wood and moulded ceramics not only coexist, but influence each other, creating a fusion where each material takes on a new meaning. The ceramic appears to grow organically over the wood, as if it were a natural extension of it.
This piece is born from the encounter between aged wood and ceramic modelling; with the aim of exploring nature with creation through modelling. In this case, the ceramic adapts organically to the wood, creating a symbiotic relationship between the materials, where their coexistence makes them complement each other. The dialogue between shapes and textures suggests growth, transformation, adaptation and interdependence, thus allowing us to reflect the logic of nature in the occupation of space and question the new possibilities of the relationship between matter, time and creation.
The form is not completely planned; it is born out of intuitive exploration and the relationship between the organic and the constructed. It doesn't impose a rigid form on matter, but allows materials to reveal unexpected possibilities. Symbiogenesis represents not only the fusion between elements, but also a way of thinking and creating based on connection, transformation and dialogue with the unpredictable.
